34 miles!

I turned 25 last November. I had a revelation. I need to start exercising regularly. Why not. I am overweight and am troubled by recent photos from my son's first birthday party. I also have an entire wardrobe that I haven't worn in 2 years. It's time. So, since January 21st I have walked 34 miles. I also have added a 15-20 minute daily yoga routine following my 2 mile walking workout. I am feeling better, and losing a few pounds in the process. I am almost to my pre-baby weight! I am sleeping soundly at night and the winter blues are not so bad with a few endorphins thrown in the mix!

Great job, Sherri! As my friend and I were out walking today, we were both shaking our heads at ourselves for how we know all the things we need to do and yet it seems like only a hard kick in the butt will get us going...and yet we don't want to wait around for it! Anyway, all that to say, I'm looking forward to losing some weight as I enjoy earlier mornings and more warm days too (and new yoga dvds!). Best wishes in the journey. It's so worth it.

Oh, almost forgot...I tagged you on my blog!

I have blogged about this several times. I have never had to battle my weight. But I came from a family (on my mothers side) that were 'all' morbidly obese. I married a man who battles obesity every day. So do I have an idea what you are going through? Not on a personal level, but definitely on some sort of level.

Small steps (no pun intended). Find something you want to tackle, like your food issues or exercise, then go for it. Once you are at ease with that then move on to something else.

If you try to get everything at once, you will be setting yourself up for imminent failure. Did you not get like this overnight, you will not get fixed over night. Small moves chicky...small moves.

Lael- Thanks for the encouragement! Good luck to you. Once you get in the groove, your day just isn't right without a workout!

Red- I am vegetarian and am just trying to lose some baby weight. I have lost 15 pounds or so since last May and am taking my sweet time. Thank you for the encouragement.
